How to enter a Progress Note

If you have permissions you will see the Progress Note tab in the eChart. Let's take a look at how this works.
- Go into the eChart and click where you see Progress Note (green button)
 - To the right you will see Add Progress Note (green button)
 - Type your note into the Note box
 - If you have permission you can adjust the date and time
 - You can attach a file by using the attachment feature
 - Before you save you can Pull or Add your signature
 - When you are ready you simply click Save or Save as Private
 - Your note will be added and then you click on Back to List to move back to the main page.
 - You can use filters to sort and find your note or others
 - These notes can be marked as reviewed by clicking the flag icon
 - If you have permission you will see an edit button and/or a delete button
 - These notes can also be printed from this area
 - There is also a Progress Note report in our Reports feature.
 
From inside this same feature you can also send a request to the doctor.
- Click on the right where you see Send Request to Doctor (orange tab)
 - Select the Doctor from the dropdown list
 - Type your Message to the doctor on the Message box
 - Include any attachment
 - Click on Post to send this message. The message faxes out from our system through a fax service.
 
**In order for this to work the provider Fax Number must be entered in the provider profile under Manage Providers
There are permissions to control the staff that can mark a Progress Note as private, save as private and view private notes. Be sure to set your permissions for this feature carefully.
There is a setting you can enable that makes the signature Required. This setting can be found in Admin Tools/iCM Settings/Progress Note Settings
