Connecting Medication Orders

As medications are renewed or changes are made the pharmacy sends this information through the system. There are occasions when the information sent over needs to be connected (integrated) with the current or existing orders.  Let's take a look at this very important process.

Step 1: Find the new order and click where you see Verify Order.

Step 2: If you know this is a match you can scroll to the bottom and click Verify Order Now.

Step 3: When there is a match you will see this message-Click Next.

Step 4: On the right side of the screen you will see active medications and the possible match or matches. 

Step 5: Click where you see view compare the 2 orders (incoming on left/current on right). If this is a match click where you see Select to Connect.

Step 6: Here you can use the bubbles to make selections. You can also edit this information as needed.

Step 7: One of the most important steps is selecting the schedule. By default it will show the "new' schedule the pharmacy suggesting. For a seamless connection you should select the Active Medication Schedule and then click on Connect Order Now

A few tips:

  • Make sure the dosage is an exact match
  • Make sure to make your selections carefully
  • This will allow for new RX numbers to show
  • Once a medication is matched it cannot be unmatched
  • When in doubt you can click on Cancel
